According to the Meteorological Department, there is a strong possibility of heavy rain in seven districts including Jaipur today. Heavy rain may occur in Ajmer, Alwar, Baran, Bharatpur, Bhilwara, Bundi, Dholpur, Jhalwad, Kota, Churu and Nagaur. A yellow warning of heavy rain has been issued for these areas. There are also rain opportunities in Bikaner, Hanumangarh and Sriganganagar of the state. Due to the rain on Sunday, there is a flood-like situation in Bharatpur, Hindauli, Karauli and Jaipur. After rain during the day in Jaipur on Sunday, the downpour continued overnight. Heavy rain resumed on Monday morning.

Monsoon will remain active for the next four to five days
According to the Meteorological Department, the circulation system is still in an area around northeast Rajasthan. It is likely to remain in this location for the next three days. Due to its influence, the monsoon will remain active for the next 5-6 days in many parts of Jaipur, Bharatpur, Ajmer and Kota districts of eastern Rajasthan. Hence, there are chances of heavy to very heavy rainfall in these areas. In the next four to five days, isolated places in West Rajasthan may experience heavy rainfall.

Heavy rain caused heavy loss of life and property
The heavy rains on Sunday have caused heavy loss of life and property. While dozens of people were washed away in the water, thousands of people suffered losses worth crores of rupees due to the flooding of their homes and shops. Orders have been issued to keep schools closed today in six districts including Jaipur, Karauli, Bharatpur and Tonk. Roads are blocked in these areas due to inundation in many places. Due to the rain, the state government is in alert mode. Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant has called an important meeting of top officials yesterday and directed them to monitor the situation and carry out relief work quickly.
