Unwanted at Atlético de Madrid, John Felix could well land on the Chelsea side. While the rumor of a departure to Aston Villa has gained momentum in recent days, the Blues have also reportedly entered the race. According to information from Fabrizio Romano, the Madrid and London leaders could integrate the 24-year-old striker as part of Conor Gallagher’s transfer to Atlético.
Initially, it was Samu Omorodion who was supposed to leave Spain for Chelsea, but the deal ultimately fell through. One of the solutions to ensure that Gallagher’s transfer does not end in such a situation would therefore be to include João Félix in the mix. Fabrizio Romano reports that Jorge Mendes is also involved in the discussions.
In the event of a departure to Chelsea, the Portuguese international would return to a club where he has already played, between January and June 2023. The latter had joined the English team in the form of a loan payment of 11 million euros. He had played 20 matches there and scored a total of four goals. His start to the adventure had been a little chaotic since he had received a red card in his first match and was suspended for three league days.
