Candidate Shim Woo-jeong, who graduated from Seoul National University School of Law, held key positions at the Ministry of Justice and the Office of the Chief Prosecutor.

He is the eldest son of former South Chungcheong Province Governor Shim Dae-pyeong, a former leader of the Liberty Forward Party.
