Police Chief in Mojokerto Town found dead on suspicion of suicide

Kompol M, the Regional Police Chief who was in Warrior Kulon area, Mojokerto City, was found dead and hanged himself at his home in Mlaten Town, Puri District, Mojokerto Regency, on Sunday (11/8/2024).

Ipda Agung Suprihandono, Head of Public Relations, Mojokerto City Police, confirmed this information. He received the sad news on Sunday afternoon.

“I received news that (Kompol M) had died at 15.00 WIB,” Agung said when confirmed.

Until now, the police had not been able to explain the history of the events experienced by Kompol M. Likewise, the motive of the victim to commit suicide.

Agung only explained that Kompol M had been suffering from an incurable illness. But he did not know the victim’s medical history.

“Before this he was treated at Gatoel Hospital,” he explained.

For your information, Kompol M has been the Police Chief of the Kulon Soldier Division since September 2023. Prior to that, he was the Operations Chief for the Mojokerto City Police.

While still at the rank of AKP, Kompol M was also the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit for the Mojokerto City Police in 2014.
