65 swimmers participated in the swimming marathon in the city of Chernomorets – 2024-08-11 08:39:04

The best in women

The mayor of the Municipality of Sozopol Tihomir Yanakiev awarded the fastest swimmers in the traditional swimming marathon of the town of Chernomorets. 65 people from all over the country took part in the competition.

Among the women, Iva Hristova, who also won the “Sveta Marina” marathon in Sozopol, placed first. Aleksandra Vachkova finished second, and Tiana Temelkova finished third.

The first among swimmers returned from the Olympics

Among the men, Petar Mitsin, who arrived in Chernomorets straight from the Olympics in Paris, performed best. Ivan Chakarov took the second place on the ladder, and Mihail Hristov ranked third.

The youngest

Mayor Yanakiev also presented certificates to the youngest participant – Raya Yanulova, 9 years old, and to the oldest – Todor Todorov, 77.

The oldest

Two more 9-year-old children took part in the competition – Viktoria Dimitrova and Maxim Belyaev, but Raya was born the latest.

77-year-old Todor Todorov showed the flag he received for first place in a swimming marathon from the island of St. Anastasia to Burgas in 1964.

The marathon was 1100 meters long. The competitors boarded a boat that took them to the “Bivolite” area, from where the mayor Tihomir Yanakiev gave the start. He congratulated the contestants and wished them the best to win.

The swimmers were accompanied by an auxiliary boat with one of the judges – Adriana Propokieva. The other two – Sonya Stoycheva and Valeri Kolev met the competitors on the shore and counted the time.

The swimming marathon in Chernomorets is held every year and now the participants were three times more than last year. Everyone received t-shirts and hats from the town hall.
