ORANGE WARNING / HEAT WAVE – L’Hôpital-du-Grosbois

Météo-France confirms orange heatwave warning for the Doubs department on August 11, 2024 from 12 p.m.

Heatwave episode starting from Sunday noon. Anticyclonic conditions favor the rise in temperatures on Sunday and Monday. A stormy deterioration on Tuesday causes the temperatures to drop.

*Every one of us is at risk, even healthy people.

* The danger is greater for the elderly, people with chronic illness or mental health problems, people who take medication regularly, and people who are isolated.

* For athletes and people who work outdoors, be careful of dehydration and heat stroke.

* Also watch over children.

* Symptoms of heatstroke include: fever above 40°C, hot, red, dry skin, headache, nausea, drowsiness, intense thirst, confusion, convulsions, and loss of consciousness.

* Use a fan and/or air conditioning if you have one. Otherwise, try to go to a cool or air-conditioned place (supermarkets, cinemas, etc.) for two to three hours a day. However, continue to maintain barrier gestures (physical distancing and wearing a mask)

* Wet your body several times a day using a spray bottle, a washcloth or by taking showers or baths.

* Adults and children: drink plenty of water, elderly people: drink 1.5L of water per day and eat normally.

* Do not go out during the hottest hours (11am-9pm).

* If you have to go out, wear a hat and light clothing.
