Anti-Semitic attack in New York: ultra-Orthodox stabbed

Young man stabbed near Chabad headquarters in New York

On the night from Saturday to Sunday, a young ultra-Orthodox man was slightly injured with a 22-year-old near the headquarters of the Chabad movement in New York.

The attack happened around 2 am later the attacker shouted “Free Palestine” at the victims.

Then the man stabbed the victim, An ultra-Orthodox Jew from Brooklyn.

Witnesses of what happened to the attacker immediately followed and he kept until the police came.

The victim was transported to Cal Hospital, where his condition is listed as mild.

Jacob Berman, a spokesman for Chabad headquarters in Brooklyn, noted that the incident “shows the dangerous effects of anti-Semitic incitement and hatred spread by politicians and leaders across the United States.”

He said “this incident should be seen as a warning about the possible consequences if such hateful rhetoric continues. “When you preach hatred and incitement against a group, it always leads to violence.”

In a related incident, Baltimore police have arrested a 66-year-old man who was filmed lighting a fire outside the Jewish Museum of Maryland.

Howard Libitt, executive director of the Baltimore Jewish Council, said the fire damage impacted the entrance to the museum, which is located between two historic synagogues.
