Jukka-Pekka Palo70, recalls Palo-in his biography (Tammi) his father, the acting legend Tauno Firelast moments of life.
According to Jukka-Peka, who works as an actress herself, Tauno went to the hospital after losing her voice. The doctor concluded that the man had a tumor. According to Palo, the news shocked Tauno so much that he fainted.
According to Jukka-Peka, her father’s tumor was never operated on but frozen. In addition, Tauno was treated with radiation treatments. Italicized passages are excerpts from the book.
At one point he stopped eating. With his decision, he wanted to announce that he did not want to continue his life. However, the law was still such in the 1980s that he was force-fed in the hospital through a stoma. He had another stoma in his throat, and he could no longer speak. The last year was torture. If the father had done something bad in his life, he had to pay it back with interestthe actor recalls in the book.
At the end of Tauno’s life, Jukka-Pekka noticed that his father’s pain had become unbearable.
When I asked him for more painkillers, the doctor stated that the law did not allow it. I still understood that, but I no longer repeat the completely stupid reasoning: the patient can become a drug addict because of excessive medication. Fortunately, attitudes have changed since those times, and today people who are terminally ill are better able to ease their pain. At least I hope sothe man says.

However, the actor did not sell a single article to any magazine. The same journalist had previously rushed straight into Tauno’s patient room with his cameraman.
The relationship with the public also influenced the fact that the family refused to organize a state funeral for Tauno Palo, which he would have received.
The blessing ceremony of the acting legend was finally organized in the Kivelä hospital chapel by the archbishop Mikko Juvan under. Jukka-Pekka recalls the adversity that happened at the funeral.
When I entered the chapel, Juva met me with a pale face. He said that he always has two Bibles with him, and now the Bible in which he had put the blessing speech was left at home. I told Juva that there is nothing to worry about, this is the actor’s funeral. I asked him to improvise and he did. Of course, he must also have remembered something he had written in the speech. It was a beautiful speechthe actor praises.
