Ferrari has announced positive results for the second quarter of the year, mainly due to the good reception of the Purosangue and Roma Spider. However, it has also confirmed that two of its models, the Roma and 812 Competizione, have been declining significantly as both are approaching the end of their commercial cycle. In addition, the Italian firm has announced the names of the two family members who have been “phased out.”
Time for changes
The victims are the Ferrari SF90 Stradale and the 812 GTS. The legacy of the second is now in the hands of the 12Cilindri presented this year in both coupé and convertible formats, while a camouflaged prototype of the first has already been seen in the testing phase of what will be a natural replacement in electrified format. However, the name is still valid since the SF90 XX are being delivered to the lucky customers who have acquired one of the few examples manufactured.

While the Italian firm is preparing a replacement for the aforementioned hybrid, it is also doing the same with the replacement for the LaFerrari. All indications are that the electrified hypercar, whose internal code is F250, will come with a V6, so it will abandon the traditional V12 in favour of lower weight and lower emissions. There is speculation about the names F80, La Rossa and Drake, but we won’t know until it debuts next year.
Ferrari 812
As for the Standard Romeone of the least sold at the moment, its aforementioned convertible version was revealed last year, but the coupe has been around since late 2019. That means an update could be just around the corner, probably accompanied by a name change and an improvement in its figures. Remember that this car is powered by a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 that offers 620 horsepower, enough to reach 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds.
