Arab athletes won three medals at the Paris Olympics, including two gold medals for Algerian boxer Iman Khalif and Tunisian taekwondo player Firas Al-Qatusi, while Bahraini runner Salwa Nasser Eid won silver in the 400-meter race.
The Arabs have won five gold medals so far, with Moroccan runner Sofiane El Bakkali in the 3,000 meter steeplechase, Algerian Kaylia Nammour in the beam competition of various athletic heights, and Bahraini runner Winifred Yafi in the 3,000 meter spire, as well as a Khalif being crowned.
They also won three silver medals for Nasser Eid, Tunisian fencer Al-Hassam Fares Ferjani, and Jordanian taekwondo player Zaid Mustafa in the weight -68 kg, and three bronze medals for Egyptian sword fencer Mohamed El-Sayed, a Tunisian taekwondo player Mohamed Khalil Jendoubi in the weight -58 kg, and the Moroccan national team in men’s football.
