Thousands of Taylor Swift fans in Austria tried to put aside their bitterness at not being able to see the American pop star at three of her concerts in Vienna, which were canceled due to a planned terror attack that authorities foiled.
Many gathered in various parts of the city, throwing outdoor parties to Swift’s songs, where they exchanged the “friendship bracelets” that her fans are so famous for and took countless selfies.
Some venues offered free drinks to those who had bought tickets to the canceled concerts.
Tickets for the planned concerts in Vienna were sold out in a very short time from the summer of 2023.
An estimated 170,000 fans were expected to attend the concerts. Many of them were already in town when the cancellation of the concerts was announced
Swift herself has yet to comment on the events. The 34-year-old has so far avoided addressing her 285 million Instagram followers.
The next stop on the Eras tour is Wembley Stadium in London.
Her London concerts start on Thursday and finish on August 20, when she leaves Europe.
Her tour concludes with shows in Toronto and Vancouver in November.
