The Blood Transfusion Centre expressed its satisfaction with the results obtained in the blood extractions carried out last week at the Puebla de Vícar Health Centre.
A unit from the Transfusion Centre, which in collaboration with the Brotherhood of Blood Donors of Almería, is carrying out this campaign in various municipalities of the province, was sent to this space.
A total of 149 people participated in these extractions. Of those who attended the two extraction sessions, fourteen donated their blood for the first time. The incorporation of new donors shows the increase in awareness that the citizens of Vícar have on issues such as this.
For his part, the mayor of Vícar, Antonio Bonilla, a regular blood donor, thanked the solidarity that the population of Vícar once again showed in response to this initiative by the Almería Donors’ Association and the Torrecárdenas Blood Transfusion Centre, which will soon be holding a new blood drive. In total, 16 bags of plasma were collected during the two days of extractions, with a large number of donors.
