A varied musical program will be offered to you at the International Balloon Festival, which begins Friday evening. During this first weekend of festivities, which will take place from August 10 to 12, several renowned and emerging artists will perform on the event’s two stages. The headliners for these three evenings are the Star Académie 2003 troupe, Bryan Adams and Matt Lang.
Due to schedule changes, the festival will open on Saturday, August 10. We expect one of the biggest nights of this 41st edition with the presence of international artist Bryan Adams. The Canadian singer, known for his many hits including Summer of ’69 et (Everything I Do) I Do It For You, has been coveted by festival-goers since 2020, as its show was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The opening act will be a performance by The Sheepdogs. The Saskatchewan-based rock band has been nominated for eleven Juno Awards and won four. Its success began in 2010 with the release of its third album Learn & Burncertified platinum.
Matt Long
On Sunday, August 11, festival-goers will be treated to a country-themed evening to close out the first weekend of the International Balloon Festival, which will then resume from August 15 to 18. The evening will be launched with singer-songwriter Justin Legacy. After being one of the finalists of the seventh season of the show The Voice In Quebec, the artist quickly began writing his own songs. He is now among the rising stars of new country in Canada.
Festival-goers will then welcome on stage singer Matt Lang, who has had a dazzling career since the release of his first album in 2018. He also won the 2019 edition of the annual Top of the Country competition presented by SiriusXM Canada. His songs have already been streamed more than 10 million times online.
Star Academy
On Monday, August 12, the festival promises a night that will move in the company of drag queen Rainbow Drag. Accompanied by musicians, she will revisit popular songs from the 2000s. This will be the first show of its kind presented on the main stage of the event. This will be followed by a performance by the Star Académie 2003 troupe who will reunite for a rare occasion to present the show And it’s not over.
