After a video was released on social media in which the consul assigned to Shanghai, Leopoldo Michel Diazhe throws rude words at the staff and even confronts and threatens to hit them. Consul General Miguel Angel Isidro Rodriguezthe Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) reported that disciplinary proceedings have already begun.
The first video shows Leopoldo Michel Díaz speaking outside an office with a person, to whom he says “if you don’t summon him, I’ll summon him, that’s what I’m the assigned consul for”; the person accompanying him mentions “I have instructions,” but Michel Díaz interrupts him and says “you’ll have fucking instructions, but you’ll have to listen to me.”
“Are you done yet?” they ask him inside the office.
“Yes, I’m done,” he replies.
When asked to leave, the Shanghai consul, clearly enraged, replied:
“I’m not retiring, you bastard… I mean, what do you think… you’re a bastard… that’s what you are, that’s why your wife left you, because you’re a bastard…”
“Anything else?” they ask.
“Yes, make an appointment with that boy for tomorrow. If you don’t, I will. And go and tell the Consul General that I don’t give a damn what he says. That’s why I’m still the seconded consul until I leave.”
“Anything else?”
“Are you going to date him?”
“No, I’m not going to quote him”
“Well, you summon him, you bastard… let him draw up a report, you son of a bitch… you’re a scumbag… that’s why your wife told you to go f…k your mother, for being a scumbag…”

In the published images, it can be seen how Leopoldo Michel Díaz insults the workers of the Consulate of Mexico in Shanghai
“Don’t be a fool… I’m your boss too. He’s the top boss but I’m your boss too,” the seconded consul can be heard shouting.
The video also shows how Consul Isidro Rodríguez arrives at the office where the screams are coming from and asks what is happening.

“Good morning. What is going on here? What is going on here?” the consul general asks the second in command.
“You don’t talk to me like that, you don’t talk to me like that because that is not your office. This is the office of the Mexican Government and I am an official of the Mexican Government,” he replies.
“And who is the owner?” asks Miguel Ángel Isidro Rodríguez.
“But you, as a regular, cannot tell me ‘get out of here’. No,” replies the seconded consul.
The Consul General asks Leopoldo Michel Díaz not to mistreat the staff, but he explodes: “I’ll kick your ass! You’re an asshole. You’re a piece of crap.”
“Remora,” says Miguel Ángel Isidro Rodríguez.

The SRE reported that in light of the “events” that occurred at the Mexican Consulate General in Shanghai, “disciplinary proceedings” were initiated.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs that protective measures have been taken and the corresponding disciplinary processes have been initiated to address the recent events that occurred at the Consulate General of Mexico in Shanghai, to determine the corresponding responsibilities and to guarantee the safety of the personnel who work there,” it said in an information card.
