The publication cites the IMF’s report on Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe for the first half of the year.
According to the document, Russia may soon come out of recession and return to a growth trend. This could happen as early as next year. Russia is suffering from low oil prices and sanctions imposed by the West over the Ukraine crisis, the report said.
For the Eurozone, the IMF forecasts an “obvious risk” of economic stagnation, despite a surprisingly positive start to the year from an economic perspective. However, the situation could be thwarted by the restrictions under the Schengen Agreement, introduced due to the influx of refugees, the authors of the document write.
