Professorship (W3) for Nuclear Medicine
The professorship is located in the Radiology Center in the Clinic for Radiology and Nuclear Medicine. As part of the clinical activities, this professorship is linked to the management of the nuclear medicine focus. Nuclear medicine is a center of excellence with tasks in patient care, clinical and translational research and teaching. Interdisciplinary and collegial cooperation with the radiology staff and all other partners is the focus of activities at the University Hospital Frankfurt. The nuclear medicine focus offers all diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures. Two gamma cameras and two SPECT/CT cameras (including the latest generation of semiconductor technology) are available for diagnostics. It has a therapy station, among other things for carrying out peptide receptor radionuclide therapies, PSMA ligand therapies and selective internal radiotherapy, as well as a PET/CT center. We expect a nationally and internationally clinically and scientifically proven personality with high social skills and comprehensive, long-standing clinical expertise in the full range of diagnostic nuclear medicine and innovative therapy procedures. In the clinical area, you should intensify existing cooperation and further develop the network concept of university medicine in the context of the other clinics and institutes. Experience in clinical management, especially in relation to the subject areas of personnel, organization, budget, quality management and clinical supervision, is required. We expect you to be willing to actively integrate into the existing structures and research profile of the Department of Medicine. In particular, scientific cooperation to strengthen collaborative research, such as the Collaborative Research Centers and the Department’s Excellence Initiative, is desired. Experience in university teaching and excellent didactic skills are expected, which should be demonstrated, if possible, through qualified teaching evaluations. The willingness to participate in curriculum development and to participate in academic self-administration is required. The application requirements are a completed university degree in human medicine, doctorate, habilitation or proof of equivalent scientific achievements, which may also have been achieved as part of a junior professorship or outside the university sector, recognition as a specialist in nuclear medicine, teaching experience, peer-reviewed third-party funding (DFG, BMBF or similar) and outstanding scientific publications. The tasks associated with the professorship in health care are regulated by an employment contract with performance-related remuneration with fixed and variable components. The recruitment requirements according to §§ 67 and 68 of the Hessian University Act apply.
