SV Elversberg vs 1. FC Köln: Who will win?
The second matchday is upon us in the 2nd Bundesliga and 1. FC Cologne is finally looking for its first win of the new season. The start was a bitter 1:2 defeat against Hamburger SV and former coach Steffen Baumgart. Now the Rhinelanders are heading to SV Elversberg, who impressively showed last season that they can beat the big clubs in the 2nd Bundesliga.
Elversberg itself had a solid start in 2024/25. In the away game against 1. FC Magdeburg, the Saarlanders achieved a goalless draw, which meant their first point. In the home game against 1. FC Cologne, which will of course be sold out, the first home win is to be achieved.

The guests from Cologne are already under pressure and cannot afford a second defeat, otherwise things could get uncomfortable in the cathedral city very early in the season. Finkgräfe, Kainz and Kilian are still out for FC. Uth could return to the squad. (smr)
