American diver Alison Gibson received a score of 0.0 when her feet hit the water during her 2024 Olympic routine.
The US athlete competed in the 3m heats in Paris on Wednesday as she looked to qualify for the semi-finals.
The mistake happened on her first of five attempts and the athlete was lucky not to hit more.
Texas-born Gibson, 25, jumped off the waterboard to execute a 2½ spin forward dive.

However, she didn’t bounce far enough and her feet ended up hitting the wader while heading for the water.
She then lost her form and ended up in the pool.
He finished last out of 28 participants with a score of 198.30.
The video of her failed attempt made the rounds on the internet and many were quick to point out how lucky she was in her misfortune. “She’s lucky she turned enough to hit her heels instead of her face/head,” wrote one user. Others were quick to comment that they wish her well.
