VAMOS Party deputy Claudia Ortiz spoke at the Meeting with Julio Villagrán about the budget allocations within the Legislative Assembly and how the Board of Directors initially notified her that she would have a budget of $20,000 for hiring personnel.
Ortiz mentioned that when she was notified of the 20 thousand dollar budget in the Legislative Assembly she was in the legislative operations manager’s office. “At a table she showed me a memorandum addressed to a secretary of the board of directors notifying the budget for the annual exercise that when divided was made up of 20 thousand dollars per month, when she showed it to me and I asked for it, they told me that they had superior instructions not to deliver it and that no photo could be taken, there was clearly a violation of a due process of notification that was in writing and in a legal and regular manner, that act is the responsibility of the board of directors,” said the opposition deputy bluntly.
That notification was given on May 8. On May 14, the legislator sent a proposed budget in accordance with the $20 thousand authorized.
“It has been said here that I wanted to deceive the administration by making several requests. But the letter is addressed to the Board of Directors (not to the AL administration) to request that this form be authorized. And they accepted it,” Ortiz said in the interview, which makes it clear that the Board of Directors is lying when accusing the deputy of “having made fun” of the Assembly.
“The Board of Directors has the power to assign a budget and authorize the appointment of support staff. Why didn’t they say “the payroll exceeds the budget” at that time? Because it didn’t exceed it. Because an agreement authorized it,” Ortiz stressed.
The legislator said that it has been said that there was an “administrative error.” But “why did they not want to show that memorandum?”
