It is only a matter of days before Jean-Clair Todibo becomes a Juventus Turin player. For several weeks, the Nice central defender has been pushing to join Serie A but the operation is at a standstill. The outcome is nevertheless close in this case.
Juventus likes to dip into OGC Nice in this 2024 summer transfer window. After registering the signing of Khephren Thuram for 20 million euros a few weeks ago, the Old Lady also hopes to complete the arrival of Jean-Clair Todibo, the solid central defender of the Aiglons for three seasons now. A departure is in the pipeline, and the former Barcelona player has reached an agreement with the Italian giant. However, discussions between the two clubs are not progressing, with Juventus wanting a loan with a mandatory purchase option. OGC Nice had also accepted a similar proposal from West Ham, but the player only wants to join the Piedmont club. Good news is about to be confirmed for the Bianconeri since the latest conditions proposed as part of the loan are more in line with what the Côte d’Azur club wants.

Slowly but surely, the Italian leaders are getting closer to a positive outcome to complete this operation. According to information from Tuttosport, Juventus has revised the conditions of the loan with a mandatory option downwards. From now on, it will be lifted automatically if Thiago Motta’s Turin team manages to qualify for the Champions League and if the player trained in Toulouse plays 40% of the matches during the season. All that is missing is the green light from the Côte d’Azur leaders, who hope at the same time to complete the reinforcement of Mohamed Abdelmonem, Egyptian central defender of Al Ahly. Ten days before the resumption of the championship, Nice is accelerating its transfer window. It now remains to be seen how Nice will manage without one of the pillars of its defense, the Gym having managed to finish best defense in Ligue 1 under the orders of Francesco Farioli last season.
