Women of Wellbeing August Bonus: How Real Is It?

Following the viralization of an alleged bonus of up to 2,600 pesos for the Mujeres con Bienestar program in August 2024, the authorities of the State of Mexico (Edomex) have denied the news. This is false information circulating on social media and seeking to steal data from beneficiaries.

According to the fake image that circulated, the Huixquilucan Development Integration Center warned about a benefit offer available until July 29, intended for “all mothers in need.”

The scam worked like this: Once a victim’s attention was captured, they were asked to click “Check Out.” On the next page, the text stated: “Your request for the voucher has been received. To proceed to the next page, please answer the following three questions to claim it immediately.”

The first question was: “What is your employment status?”, with response options such as student, unemployed and employed. The other two questions were not released by the organization, which issued a clarifying message: “Do not be fooled, get information only through official sources on the Mujeres Con Bienestar website.”

  • Review the profile: Check aspects such as the account creation date, location, and reputation of the seller on the Marketplace before making any transaction.
  • Be wary of cash payments and meetings: Be wary of transactions requiring large sums of cash and opt for public, safe locations for deliveries.
