The arrest rate at the US southern border has fallen to the lowest level since President Joe Biden took office. according to The Fox Newsarrests during the month of July dropped below 60 thousand.
Official data provided by the Department of Homeland Security indicated that the number of people arrested is about 57 thousand. This marks a major development for the Biden administration. However, it is difficult to determine whether the declining arrest rate reflects a broader decline in illegal immigration.
The Immigration Reform Law Institute (IRLI) gave its opinion on the subject. The center told Fox News Digital that the declining rate of arrests does not reflect overall positive trends for border security.
Fewer arrests on the southern border. Solve the problem?
IRLI director of investigations and former immigration judge, Matt O’Brien, commented on the case. “The Biden administration’s claims on this point reflect an effort to hide its refusal to secure the border and enforce the provisions of the Immigration and Nationality Act.”
“The number of border crossings always decreases in the summer because it is too hot and dry to travel safely through the Mexican desert. This happens every year,” O’Brien said.
The expert also noted that “Biden’s team is deliberately hiding the fact that they are bringing in thousands of unauthorized aliens through their CBP One application.”
US Customs and Border Protection describes CBP One as a mobile app that serves as a single portal for multiple CBP services. Through a series of guided questions, the application directs all types of users to the appropriate services according to their needs.
It is obvious that the problem of immigration to the southern part of the United States has not yet been solved. However, the data shows that fewer people are deciding to risk their lives while entering the north country.
