The children of former Bundesliga goalkeeper Claus Reitmaier disappeared without a trace after a visit to their mother. The police are now searching for the 35-year-old.
Mönchengladbach – Many football fans know the former Bundesliga goalkeeper Claus Reitmaier from his 355 Bundesliga games. The 60-year-old has been missing his children for a year and a half. After a visit to their mother 19 months ago, both children and his wife disappeared.
Children and ex-wife of Claus Reitmaier missing: Police launch large-scale manhunt
Claus Reitmaier and his ex-wife Pricilla Patricia Lefoldt have been living separately since 2022. After the dissolution of their marriage, Reitmaier was granted sole custody of their two children, who are now nine and seven years old, by a court. The children lived with Reitmaier in his Mönchengladbach apartment. But after a day of visiting their mother on January 15, 2023, they did not return to the apartment.

Lefoldt has since disappeared, according to a press release from the Mönchengladbach Police The police and the public prosecutor’s office are now searching for the 35-year-old due to a new court order from the Mönchengladbach District Court. She is suspected of kidnapping minors and violating her duty of care. There is both a national and a European arrest warrant against Reitmaier’s ex-wife. The Austrian police are also currently busy with a missing person case.

The Mönchengladbach police began their investigation immediately after Pricilla Patricia Lefoldt disappeared. “Despite ongoing and extensive investigations in close cooperation with other federal states, the whereabouts of the accused could not be determined,” said the police. Now the officers hope that the public manhunt will be successful.
According to the investigations so far, it is likely that the wanted woman is in the greater Hamburg area. The Lüneburg police department has even named the Harburg district and the surrounding areas as a possible location. The investigators are asking the public for support and to come forward if they have any information on the whereabouts of the wanted woman. “The police are accepting relevant information on 02161/290.” Just recently, the police spent a month searching for a woman and her son – there was also a public search.
