As the intensity of speaking is inversely proportional to its quality. There are many examples – both in our native reality and on the international political scene. Let’s recall some of them for the past year.

The former Minister of Defense Nikolay Nenchev, investigating the case for the repair of our MiG fighter jets, asks whose interests the justice protects – the Bulgarians or the “foreign Russian company”. According to Nenchev, it turns out that if the repair is provided to one foreign Polish company, as he ordered when he was Minister of War, Bulgarian interests are protected, but if the company is Russian – not anymore. Strange logic!
MEP from “Herb” Andrey Kovachev called “fake news” the complaints of Bulgarian farmers who cannot export their products to Russia due to Putin’s counter-sanctions against European sanctions. We just didn’t understand what was fake about the news, Mr. MEP?
In the debates about the failed Moratorium on the payment of new drugs from the Health Insurance Fund, the chairperson of the Committee on Budget and Finance, Menda Stoyanova, displayed wordsmithing of dubious quality, calling the innovative drugs for oncology “molecules”. The newly hatched phrase was immediately picked up by the Prime Minister, who, in his typical simplistic style, began to explain to the entire nation how he had once unsuccessfully bought a “molecule to fight cancer”. In fact, a molecule is the smallest particle of a given substance, the carrier of its properties, which is composed of atoms joined by chemical bonds. Whereas a drug is a substance (of plant, animal or chemical origin) consisting of interconnected molecules. I.e. the elementary representation of a newly discovered drug by its molecular structure is not the most accurate description of its effects. On the other hand, it sounds original and confusing to opponents. And this is probably the purpose of the verbal exercise.
Deputy Prime Minister Valery Simeonov gave “cultural” explanations about whether “Wehrmacht” was Hitler’s armed forces or the name of a rock band while … opening a new toilet at the Kalotina border crossing. The media successfully drew an analogy with Jaroslav Hasek’s characters from “The Adventures of the Good Soldier Švejk”. Such are the occupations and the level of today’s rulers.

Since when is disagreement with US foreign policy interpreted as an “insult”? And what does “we will never forget” mean? Will there be revenge, sanctions and reprisals? And why? Because the rest of the UN countries do not agree with the adjustment of American foreign policy to the interests of the Jewish lobby in the USA? But these are not principles, Mr. Democrats, this is pure lobbying on a planetary scale, from which entire state regions suffer.

From the end of World War II to today The US has fought 8 wars (in Korea, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Yugoslavia, Afghanistan, two – in Iraq), implemented armed interventions (in Cuba in 1961, in the Dominican Republic in 1965, in Nicaragua and through death squad training in El Salvador and Guatemala in the 1980s, in Grenada in 1983, in Panama in 1989, support for the Mujahideen against Soviet troops in Afghanistan in the 1980s, which gave rise to Islamic terrorism), organized coups d’état (in Iran in 1953, in Guatemala, 1954, in Brazil, 1964, in Indonesia in 1965-67, growing into “the greatest mass murders of the 20th century” according to Oliver Stone, in Chile in 1973, which led to the death of Dr. Allende and the coming to power of Gen. Pinochet, killing over 3,200 of his opponents and imprisoning tens of thousands of people). So who is a threat to the world?
Trump identified China and Russia as „revisionist forces”who „they use technology, propaganda and coercion to shape a world opposed to our interests and values”.
It is as if the States impose their values and the notorious “American interests” in a different way. The concept of “soft power” (English soft power) was introduced by the American political scientist Joseph Nye (Joseph Nye) in the eighties and means a form of foreign policy strategy that achieves the desired results for those conducting it on the basis of voluntary participation, sympathy and attractiveness, as opposed to “hard power”, implying coercion. “Soft power” is the language and culture of a given country, which play a pivotal role in international relations and influence world politics and business relations. But when “soft power” is used by the Americans – this is successful diplomacy (as former President Barack Obama claimed), and when it is used by Russia or China – it is already a threat to the USA. Isn’t it too much?
Theresa May was not left out of this trend either.
declaring that “Crimea is the first forcible seizure of foreign territory in Europe since World War II.” You lie, Madam Prime Minister, the first such annexation was the occupation of Northern Cyprus by Turkey in 1974. The second violation of the territorial integrity of a sovereign state and trampling of the Helsinki Agreement was NATO’s war against Yugoslavia and, as a consequence, the secession of Kosovo. Moreover, unlike Crimea – NO national referendum! The Prime Minister of Great Britain should brush up on her knowledge of history and geopolitics before making bombastic statements in the international media!
And more – during her visit to Poland, she said that “both countries are alarmed by Russia’s attempts to turn information into a weapon”! Should we believe our ears? That’s right with this very weapon The West broke up the Soviet Union and the socialist bloc? It was then “freedom of speech” and a legitimate and inalienable right of the individual – how has it suddenly become a dangerous trend “seeking to undermine the international rules-based system”!? Or is a weapon justified and legal only when it serves the hypocritical neo-liberal democracy and impermissible when it is used by others?
Such were the “pearls” of the political speech of the past year. Thoughtless, speculative, manipulative. Aiming external effect, own PR and formation of public attitudes to implement the intentions of the orators. At the expense of common sense, historical facts and truth.
