Novak Djokovic received numerous congratulations after his Olympic victory.

Sports superstars such as Rafael Nadal and LeBron James congratulated him, as did well-known actors and Elon Musk.

Roger Federer has not yet commented on this on social media.
Rafael Nadal, Erling Haaland, Toni Kroos, LeBron James and so on. The list of prominent well-wishers from the world of sport who congratulated Novak Djokovic after his Olympic victory was huge. Hollywood stars such as Ben Stiller and Matthew McConaughey as well as multi-billionaire Elon Musk also spoke out. But Roger Federer, a long-time companion of the Serb, has so far remained silent, at least on social media.
There has been no comment on Djokovic’s big win on either Federer’s Instagram or his X profile, even though the Swiss tennis legend usually pays respect to the victories of his former rivals, even virtually.
Murray congratulated Federer on retiring
Just a few days before the Olympic final, Federer appeared in an ATP video to congratulate Andy Murray on the end of his “incredible career.” During his active career, the Scotsman, like Nadal and Djokovic, had numerous thrilling duels with the Basel native on the tennis tour.
Federer has also congratulated the Serb publicly in the past. “It was an incredible success, I couldn’t have been happier,” he said after Djokovic’s record-breaking 23rd Grand Slam title at the French Open last year. Even now, after Djokovic’s Olympic victory, it cannot be ruled out that Federer contacted his former long-time rival privately.
Shitstorm under Federer’s book post
The maestro remains silent on social media, at least when it comes to congratulations. However, he did have enough time for a promotional post about his new book, which really riled up many of Novak Djokovic’s fans. “Are you that jealous? Even Nadal congratulated him on the day of the final!” reads one comment under Federer’s Insta post.
“A true gentleman would congratulate Djokovic,” writes another. “I really thought that as a great sportsman you would have character. But as you can see, you don’t even have the C of character,” rants another Djokovic supporter, speaking of the envy that is eating Federer up from the inside.
With Olympic gold in singles, Djokovic achieved what Federer had failed to achieve in his career and completed the so-called “Career Golden Slam” (winning all four Grand Slam tournaments plus the Olympic title during a career). The Swiss won gold in doubles with Stan Wawrinka in 2008, but only won silver in singles in 2012.
