Air and Phoenix, both French bands from Versailles, will perform at the closing ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games, scheduled for this Sunday at the Stade de France in the European capital.

The scoop was given by the newspaper Le Parisien, which in turn revived the never-officialized rumor that Tom Cruise is another of the artists who will participate in the event.
It would be the second time Air and Phoenix have met in a short period of time, as on July 17th both went up to the roof of Terminal 1 of Charles de Gaulle Airport to offer a free concert, although only for a few invited guests.
Air was formed in 1995 by Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoît Dunckel, and has as its artistic Everest Moon Safaritheir debut album from 1998, whose 25th anniversary was recently celebrated at Olympia and the Days Off festival.
This work includes Sexy Boythe song with which Hernán Cattaneo closed one of his recent winter sets at Forja.

Phoenix, for its part, emerged in the early years of this century with sizzling indie songs included in United, Alphabetical, It’s Never Been Like That, Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, Bankrupt!, I love you y Alpha Zulu.
Led by singer Thomas Mars, they became the most famous French band in the world for their ability to reconcile the organic with the digital like few others.
Phoenix offered a sideshow of Lollapalooza Argentina 2024, last March, which was analytically highlighted by The voice.

It remains to be noted that the bar for the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games was set very high by its opening, which took place on June 26 on the banks of the River Seine.
This was a major work of art directed by Thomas Jolly and in which, at different stages, Céline Dion, Lady Gaga, Aya Namakura, Gojira and Juliette Armanet participated.
