Two light vehicles collided on Tuesday, August 6, around 8:30 p.m., in the town of Moncayolle-Larrory-Mendibieu, in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques. Despite the intervention of numerous firefighters, one of the victims died after being transported to a hospital in the department.
The accident happened early in the evening on Tuesday, August 6. At around 8:30 p.m., in the town of Moncayolle Larrory-Mendibieu, in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, two cars collided. Among the five victims of the accident, a woman died after being taken by helicopter to a hospital in the department.
“Extrication operations were carried out on both vehicles”indicates the departmental fire and rescue service of the Pyrénées-Atlantiques. In the first car, two women aged 77 and 85 were taken, in absolute emergency, to the hospitals of Pau and Oloron-Sainte-Marie, thanks to a Dragon 64 civil security helicopter.
Still in this first vehicle, a 75-year-old man was transported in relative urgency to the Oloron-Sainte-Marie hospital center.
In the second car, the only victim, a 29-year-old man, was sent as a relative emergency to the Oloron-Sainte-Marie hospital.
As soon as the accident was reported, a large contingent of firefighters went to the scene in Moncayolle Larrory-Mendibieu. A total of 17 firefighters were mobilized last night for this road accident.
