Paris (dpa)
American Sam Watson broke the world record in speed climbing qualifications for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games on Tuesday, the third record in the first two days of competition.

In the men’s speed heats, the Olympic record was broken seven times before Watson set a world best of 4.75 seconds on the 15-meter wall.
Poland’s Alexandra Miroslaw achieved an unprecedented time of 6.06 seconds in the women’s qualifications yesterday, Monday, minutes after breaking her previous world record. The women’s semi-finals, semi-finals and final will be held on Wednesday, while the men’s competition will be held on Thursday. It is expected that more records will be broken in the sport of climbing, which was added to the Olympics in the last session three years ago in Tokyo.
