Nuremberg/Bielefeld/Magdeburg/DUR – Julian Kania was also rumored to be playing for 1. FC Magdeburg. Now it’s been confirmed: the great attacking talent is joining Arminia Bielefeld in the 3rd division.
The 22-year-old was considered a candidate for a striker at FCM, who then secured the services of Aleksa Marusic. Since then, the trail to Kania has been rather cold. The club is not currently looking for any more attackers, as the squad is already well-staffed with 31 men.
However, numerous third division clubs such as Dynamo Dresden and Hansa Rostock were vying for the attacker, who had been dropped by 1. FC Nuremberg, until recently.

But Kania decided to go to Bielefeld. “Arminia tried to get me for a long time and now, during the preseason, the opportunity has arisen to make the move happen,” said the striker.
The young striker attracted attention with 24 goals in Nuremberg’s regional league reserves. However, he was unable to make it into the pros, and new coach Miroslav Klose criticized Kania and sent him back to the regional league. He scored again in the first game of the season against FC Bayern Munich II.
