On Friday (August 2). Aerosmith know that her farewell tour for September 2024 had to be cancelled. The reason for this is the vocal cord injury and broken larynx that singer Steven Tyler sustained during a concert in September 2023. On September 9, Aerosmith took the stage at the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York. The show was the third concert of their Peace Out tour and the last before the band had to cancel the remaining dates due to Tyler’s neck injury. Until then, no one knew that it would be their last event. Like the other two concerts in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, the show started with a video montage showing the band during their career. Aerosmith then officially opened the show with “Back In The Saddle” from their 2007 album “Angel Down”. Afterwards, the fans in attendance were able to enjoy the live debut Rufus Thomas “Walking the Dog”, a song that the group had already covered on their 1977 LP “Draw The Line”, but had not performed live before.

Aerosmith cancels tour

After initially canceling the tour dates, the band now had to admit that Tyler’s voice would never fully recover from the damage. On Friday (August 2), Aerosmith announced the end of the tour via their social media channels. This means that not only the planned tour but also the band’s live shows would be cancelled.
