COLIMA.- The Colima State DIF, in coordination with volunteers from different departments of the Government of the State of Colima, invites the entire population to participate in its seventh Blood Donation Day, which will take place next Thursday, August 8 from 7:30 to 10:00 in the morning, in alliance with the organization called ‘Donadores Compulsivos’.
María del Rosario Silva Verduzco, general director of the Colima State DIF, highlighted that this donation has the main objective of contributing to saving lives, since each donation can save the lives of up to three people; it also encourages solidarity and generosity, since it promotes a culture of altruistic donation and community support. Above all, it allows us to maintain an adequate supply to the different blood banks in our state.
He called on the entire community to join this important cause and contribute to improving the health and well-being of those who need it most. The meeting is at the DIF Complex, located at Encino Street # 530, Rinconada del Pereyra neighborhood, in the city of Colima.
She reminded that, to be a donor, it is necessary to be in good general health, be between 18 and 65 years of age, weigh at least 50 kilograms, not have had surgery in the last six months; not have had tattoos, piercings or acupuncture in the last twelve months; not have consumed alcoholic beverages 48 hours prior to the day of donation and not have cough, cold, headaches or abdominal pain, or have taken painkillers. In the case of women, not be pregnant or breastfeeding.
