Safety Plan for New York City Warehouses – Telemundo New York (47)

NEW YORK – Merchants and small business owners in Upper Manhattan received news this Monday that will help them prevent theft in their stores, through security equipment provided through federal funds provided by Speaker Adrián Espaillat .

Business owners have been calling for tougher security measures, especially after suffering attacks, thefts and assaults on owners or employees in their commercial buildings.

The recurring cases of robberies, assaults and attacks on warehouse workers and small businesses led Congressman Adriano Espaillat to obtain a million dollars in federal funds to install security equipment in these commercial buildings.

“It is estimated that this will be able to cover between 800 per thousand cameras,” said congressman Adriano Espaillat. “It is a lot for an area like upper Manhattan and part of the Bronx, just as other technologies are very important to our protect businesses.”

The representative for the 13th district of New York made the announcement together with representatives of the merchant and winery associations, who announced themselves that they had a relief with support that not only protects them but their neighborhoods.

“We support this decision and we hope that all the wineries will have the cameras that can be secured,” said Radhamés Rodríguez, President of Bodegas Unidas de América. “Not only so that our winemakers, our workers feel safe, but also our community. “

The money will also be used to promote activities between the New York Police Department and winemakers’ and merchants’ associations to develop crime prevention strategies at the community and neighborhood levels.
