Terence Crawford, 4 division champion, defeats Israil Madrimov by unanimous decision

Terence Crawford, the world’s top pound-for-pound boxer, defeated Israil Madrimov by unanimous decision on Saturday to become a four-division champion.

Crawford won the WBA super welterweight title in his first fight at 154 pounds, 116-112, 115-113 and 115-113 on the judges’ scorecards.

Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs) became the undisputed welterweight champion in July 2023. He has also won titles at super lightweight and lightweight.

The win could set up a fight between Crawford and Canelo Alvarez, the current 168-pound champion.

Jose Valenzuela (14-2) won the WBA super lightweight title by split decision over Isaac Cruz (26-3-1) in the co-main event. Valenzuela received identical scores of 116-112 from two judges, while Cruz received a score of 115-113 from the third.

On the undercard, Jarrell Miller (27-1-2) fought Andy Ruiz Jr. (35-2-1) barely winning by split decision 116-112 in favor of Miller, while the other two each scored 114-114 counts.

Ruiz, the former heavyweight champion competing for the first time since September 2022, said in the post-fight interview that he fractured his right hand.

Martin Bakole (21-1, 16 KOs) knocked down Jared Anderson (17-1) in the first round before finishing him in the fifth round for the technical knockout.
