The Amsterdam stock exchange opened deep in the red on Monday. The AEX traded 3.3 percent lower at 849 points.
The financials suffered the biggest losses, with ABN AMRO down 4.7 percent, ING down 5.0 percent and NN down 5.8 percent.
Only Unilever rose 1.1 percent.
In the AMX, Flow Traders gained 4.0 percent and OCI rose 9.4 percent after figures and a large divestment. But the rest of the shares fell. Van Lanschot Kempen and Just Eat Takeaway even lost 6.3 and 7.2 percent.
Among small caps, PostNL fell 0.9 percent after figures. CM.com and Theon International lost around 10 percent.
