US superstar Simone Biles missed out on her fourth gold medal at the end of the gymnastics competitions at the Olympic Games in Paris. The 27-year-old only came second on the floor in the Bercy Arena.
In the presence of former NFL superstar Tom Brady, Biles stepped far out of the gymnastics area twice during her extremely difficult routine and only received 14.133 points due to a deduction of 0.6 points. Nevertheless, she was cheered for her spectacular performance by the fans in the packed stands.
The competition was won by Brazilian Rebeca Andrade, who became Olympic champion in vault in Tokyo in Biles’ absence, with 14.166 points. The bronze medal went to Jordan Chiles from the USA, who, after successfully appealing against the score of her performance, pushed the already celebrating Romanian Ana Barbosu (13.700) into fourth place with 13.766 points.
