Results of the 24th DRK blood donation in Tripsdrill – Local News

Cleebronn [Tripsdrill] The largest German Red Cross blood donation campaign in Germany, at the gates of the Tripsdrill adventure park, ends today. From Monday, July 29th to Friday, August 2nd, people could donate blood and receive a day pass as a thank you. With around 3,800 people willing to donate, the results have already been positive. This year’s prominent supporter was Andrea Berg.

With an incredible result of almost 3,400 donations – 16 percent of which were first-time donors – the DRK blood drive in Tripsdrill was once again a complete success. Of course, everyone who was willing to donate received a Tripsdrill day pass as a thank you. As a prominent supporter, Andrea Berg, the most successful singer in German chart history, was there at the start and donated blood herself. With a quote from her father, “Life hangs by a thread,” she illustrated how important blood donations are. In the large, air-conditioned tent in front of the adventure park, around 200 volunteers from the DRK local associations in Brackenheim, Eppingen, Kirchheim and Sachsenheim as well as from TSV Cleebronn and TSV Güglingen worked tirelessly.

“Without all of you and your indispensable work, this campaign would not be possible,” the Tripsdrill management and the DRK blood donation service Baden-Württemberg-Hessen agree. Over the last 24 years, the DRK blood donation in Tripsdrill has developed into the largest blood donation campaign in Germany. Over 70,000 donors have now given their blood in Tripsdrill. On Wednesday, July 31, 2024, this incredible number was broken: Clarissa Mayer from Talheim was donor number 70,000 and was honored together with donors number 69,999 (Vera Haug-Dörzbach from Bad Rappenau) and 70,001 (Lukas Böhm from Talheim).

All three received a bouquet of flowers from the DRK blood donation service, and the 70,000th donor also received a voucher for a Tripsdriller annual pass. TSV Botenheim sent out a strong message, with 25 members donating blood and passing on the day passes they received to the Streetbunnycrew, a club from the motorcycle scene that collects donations for charitable organizations. The German Liver Transplant Association, which promotes the organ donor card, also received a lot of support.
