Zac Efron has been hospitalized after a swimming accident, Deadline reports. The actor sustained the injury during a “minor swimming incident” while on vacation in Spain, but fortunately, he is not in serious danger.
Zac Efron – what happened?
The 36-year-old star of the cult “High School Musical” and the recent “Brothers of Steel” was found unconscious in the pool of a villa in Ibiza by two men who were not named to the media. They quickly pulled him out of the water and provided immediate transport to a nearby hospital. It is still unclear what caused the dangerous situation.
Efron’s rep told TMZ that the trip to the hospital was taken as a “precautionary measure.” The actor was released from the hospital this morning, although he has been avoiding contact with reporters since the accident. His vacation in Ibiza, Spain, was another stop on his European vacation, with Efron spotted at the opening ceremony of the Olympics, where he spent the next few days watching the athletes compete.
His vacation later moved south, touring the Greek island of Mykonos before heading to St. Tropez, where he allegedly partied on a yacht with Gerard Butler. The circumstances of the high-risk situation the actor found himself in are still unknown, and it’s hard to imagine they’ll be revealed anytime soon.
