Increase in cases in Puebla
The state of Puebla registered 19 COVID-19 infections in epidemiological week number 30, which runs from July 21 to 27, adding up to a total of 419 cases so far in 2024, reported the Secretary of Health, Araceli Soria Córdoba.
Minors and Young Adults, the Most Affected
In addition to COVID-19, the head of the Health Services pointed out that other respiratory diseases are also being treated. So far this year, 469,858 acute respiratory infections have been recorded, mainly affecting people between 25 and 44 years old, followed by the 5 to 9 age group and finally 1 to 4 years old.
To avoid these illnesses, Soria Córdoba reiterated the call to the population to take preventive measures, such as the use of face masks in case of respiratory infection, in crowded and closed places, sneezing etiquette, frequent hand washing and use of antibacterial gel.
These measures seek to mitigate the impact of the new coronavirus variants and protect the health of the university community and the general population.
