In the 90th minute, the home team almost managed to land the lucky punch. After a nice pass into the backcourt, Matteo Di Giusto had plenty of space, but missed significantly. Di Giusto, of all people, who had been responsible for all three of FCW’s goals so far this season, lost his nerve this time.
But it would also have been an excessive reward for the home team, which had done little for the game up to that point. The Vaudois, who concentrated mainly on defence after two defeats in the opening match, were at least able to reward themselves with their first point. They too showed an overall unimpressive performance.
The game at the Schützenwiese was the first in this Super League season that ended without a goal.
