A woman was raped in a park in Hoorn yesterday afternoon, the police said. Police are looking for the suspect and are hoping that passers-by or local residents who noticed something or have camera footage can come forward.
The incident took place around 5pm in a park between the Schout and the Dorpsstraat, in the middle of a residential area. A man she does not know spoke to the victim, a police spokeswoman said. “He then dragged her into the bushes.”
Later witnesses saw the two coming out of the bushes. “From there, the suspect ran away and help came to the victim,” said the spokesman. The man fled on a bicycle, writes the regional broadcaster NH.

Police searched the park and interviewed witnesses. The suspect, a man believed to be between 25 and 30 years old, has not yet been located.
