Hyundai’s SPKLU can no longer be used by other brands of electric cars

Hyundai has rolled out electric vehicle charging stations in various locations. If SPKLU Hyundai could be used before to charge other brands of electric cars, that is not the case now.

Extracted from the official Instagram account of Hyundai Motors Indonesia (HMID), starting in August 2024 there will be several updated information regarding the Hyundai Toll Station. One of them is using Hyundai’s SPKLU which is not available with electric cars except Hyundai brand.

“Starting in August 2024, Hyundai will implement an electric charging scheme for charging at the Hyundai EV Charging Station and it is limited to Hyundai branded cars and its affiliates. ” wrote Hyundai in his Instagram account.

Hyundai already has SPKLU in various locations. Some of them are installed in shopping centers. In fact, SPKLU Hyundai supports ultrafast charging. Previously, this facility could be used by other brands of electric cars that were compatible with the CCS2 charger type. But starting this month only for Hyundai cars.

One of Hyundai’s ultrafast charging SPKLUs has been installed at Plaza Indonesia. There, Hyundai provided two ultrafast charger gun units with a total power of 240kW that are able to charge an electric car battery from 10% to 80% in about 18 minutes.

The ultra-fast charger from Hyundai is said to have met IP54 certification, which makes it resistant to water exposure from all sides so it can be used safely in wet conditions.

At the same time, for new customers of Hyundai electric cars from the pre-booking period for the All New Kona Electric and GIIAS 2024 for other models, an EV Tax Service Program will be available which can be accessed for free through the ​​myHyundai application .
