Transporter hits children in Malgersdorf

It could have ended much worse: two girls were injured in a traffic accident in a residential area in Malgersdorf (Rottal-Inn district) on Friday. A van had hit them.

According to the police, shortly after noon, the 22-year-old driver did not notice that the two ten-year-old boys had stopped their scooters a few meters behind the van. While he was returning, he hit his children, who fell and their scooters went under the back of the vehicle. As a result of the scream, the driver stopped immediately, which prevented anything worse from happening, according to police.

Witnesses provide first aid

However, one of the two girls sustained moderate injuries and was taken to hospital. Fortunately, the other man was only slightly injured and did not require medical attention. Two witnesses to the accident, who both work in health care, immediately gave first aid to the children until the emergency services arrived.
