/ world today news/ To be honest, until that moment I had no definite opinion about Valeri Zhablyanov. We don’t know each other personally and we haven’t worked together, so I’ve always been reserved in my assessment of him.
Until now.
Those typically Bulgarian political passions flared up recently, this time on the occasion of the sentence written by Zablyanov about the People’s Court and its objective historical conditioning. Passions flared up and how! Flames flowed both from those in power, who deftly sensed the possibility of taking at least a minimal revenge after the series of political defeats they suffered in front of the public, and from the descendants and supporters of those who received their sentences from the People’s Court…
I also had some thoughts about the People’s Court, which I posted on Facebook, the traditional place for modern social interaction and expression of opinion. I wrote the following:
1. On June 9, 1923, a bloody coup was carried out, as a result of which the legally elected Prime Minister of Bulgaria was overthrown and literally cut to pieces;
2. For 21 years, the fascist authorities in Bulgaria implemented a consistent policy of terror against all dissenters;
3. At the end of 1940, the fascist authorities adopted the Law for the Protection of the Nation, fully harmonized with the legislation of Nazi Germany, according to which 60,000 Bulgarian citizens of Jewish origin were deprived of civil rights;
4. In the spring of 1941, the fascist government gave the Hitlerites the opportunity to carry out their attack on Yugoslavia and Greece, INCLUDING FROM BULGARIAN TERRITORY!;
5. Lying to the Bulgarian people that their “unification” was taking place, under the scepter of the then monarch, Bulgaria participated in the occupation of territories from Yugoslavia and Greece, which were handed over to Bulgarian rule by Hitler TEMPORARILY, and their final status should be specified AFTER the German victory in the war. Carrying out the racial program of the Hitlerites, the Bulgarian rulers quietly sent 11,000 people of Jewish origin living on these lands to death in the concentration camps;
6. By providing Nazi Germany with Bulgaria’s infrastructure and economy, the Bulgarian fascist rulers indirectly participated in the war against the USSR, assisting in every possible way the efforts of their masters, hidden under the mask of so-called “neutrality”!;
7. Strictly following the instructions of the Hitlerites, the Bulgarian fascist rulers brought Bulgaria into a war against Great Britain and the USA, without making any effort to ensure the safety of the people at least to a minimal extent, which led to several thousand killed and wounded Bulgarian citizens, as well as serious material destruction as a result of the actions of the Anglo-American aviation, when suddenly from a symbolic, the war turns into a real one!;
8. The Bulgarian fascist rulers carry out a policy of open terror and extermination of dissidents, both on the territory of the country and on the occupied Yugoslav and Greek lands, as a result of which Bulgaria is branded with the stigma of a loyal Hitler satellite and ONLY the partisan movement and the participation of the country in the final stage of the Second World War, give the opportunity for any favorable conditions for a peace treaty!!!
Historical facts from the distance of time are always subject to interpretations by subsequent generations. In a civil war, in a revolutionary change in society, the sacrifices made are always expensive, heavy and difficult to swallow. But it is even more terrible and pitiful to try to justify the war criminals, the murderers, the inquisitors!!!
This is clearly how Valery Zablyanov sees things! Now that I have come to know him in this light, I wish to shake his hand!
Against the background of the controversy that has flared up in society, the leadership of the Bulgarian Socialist Party once again in these 28 years makes a serious political mistake! Instead of clearly and categorically expressing a position regarding the attempts of right-wing circles to rewrite and revise history, it once again went into a deaf defense, first withdrawing from the political declaration the sentence about the People’s Court, then hinting that it was considering the punishment of Zhablyanov for entering of the sentence, and also that this sentence IS NOT the position of the Bulgarian Socialist Party, and finally, to top it off, he stated that this topic is not on the agenda of the society… Finally, the readiness to participate in debates sounded. ..
Debates?! After the authoritative opinions of Angel Wagenstein, Andrey Pantev, Velislava Dureva?!
Somehow it sounds reassuring And this is “not on the agenda”…
It’s comforting…
However, Ukraine, where they burn people alive and persecute any expression of anti-fascist positions, is so far away…
The Baltics, where the underachieving SS men who fought on the side of the Hitlerite hordes are freely marching, is just as far away…
Somewhere far away, a Lukovmarsh is also taking place…
It doesn’t concern us, it’s too far! And many other things did not concern us during these 28 years.
Meanwhile, those circles that created Hitler and pushed him on his march of conquest, once again drew fiery lines of opposition throughout the world! A scary process where everyone has to choose their side!
I am thinking the following: how much political time can a party that calls itself Socialist, but which with its every action confirms the old folk saying that whoever sits on two chairs sooner or later falls from them to the ground?!
How much easier and pleasant it is for the party ship to sail along the course of these 28 years, with a pleasant and enticing ocean breeze in its sails, constantly proving to “allies” and “partners” and even to itself that the party is changed, renewed, reformed, reactive…
But in what direction does the course set by the transoceanic breeze lead?!
And I also think that it does not matter whether Valery Zhablyanov will be the deputy speaker of the National Assembly or not. Another important thing is: who stands where in this clash!
I chose my position!
It’s a democracy now.
Let everyone decide where to write and read the title, depending on their conscience and convictions!!!
