Belgium already freezes accounts of suspected terrorists under the fast-track procedure – 2024-08-04 08:27:24

/ world today news/ The Belgian authorities for the first time froze the accounts of 12 persons suspected of terrorist activity without judicial permission, fulfilling a request of the Center for Analysis of Threats at the Ministry of the Interior, reported in “Eko”.

The publication clarifies that from now on, persons for whom it was decided to be sanctioned will not be able to use their assets, real estate and other property and will not be able to receive financing from other persons.

On the list of persons on whom sanctions have been imposed are the participant in the terrorist acts of March 22 in Brussels, Mohamed Abrini, who for some reason did not blow himself up, as well as the Bazaroui family, whose members are suspected of harboring Salah Abdeslam – one of the main suspects in the preparation and implementation of the terrorist act on November 13, 2015 in Paris.

The possibility of imposing sanctions without judicial authorization is given in an existing royal decree, which, however, has not been used so far. / RIA Novosti
