The footage is unbearable. The Jerusalem Post reports that relatives of Israeli hostage Eitan Levi have released a video showing his body being desecrated in Gaza. After Hamas terrorists murdered the taxi driver on October 7, 2023, they took his body to Gaza, where civilians apparently abused his lifeless body.
The 53-year-old man from Bat Yam, south of Tel Aviv, had driven a passenger the long way to Kibbutz Be’eri. After dropping him off there, he wanted to return but was ambushed by terrorists who had invaded southern Israel from the Gaza Strip early that morning.
Levi was on the phone with his sister. She had to listen to her brother’s kidnapping, with several voices arguing in Arabic on the phone. Eventually the phone was turned off. What happened after that is not known. On December 8, the relatives were informed that Levi had been murdered by Hamas terrorists and his body taken to Gaza.
Unbearable images
Levi’s family posted the video evidence on Instagram on Saturday. The footage shows Levi’s almost naked body being taken to Gaza in the open trunk of a car and a crowd following the car. Finally, the mob can be seen stepping on Levi’s lifeless body, cheering loudly. Even though the recordings have been blurred, they are unbearable.
Levi’s family also asked the Israeli Foreign Ministry to publish the material on X, the report said. “In this video, a mob of Gaza residents abuse and desecrate Eitan’s body, which is hanging from the trunk of a car. Imagine these are your neighbors. May Eitan’s memory be a blessing,” it says.
Levi’s family is said to have said that the footage proves “that there are no innocent citizens in Gaza.” Levi’s relatives are demanding the immediate release of all hostages.
Protest despite Iran threats
Other hostage families are gathering on Saturday evening for the weekly protests in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Ra’anana, despite threats from Iran. In addition to the demonstration in the hostage square, there will also be protests in front of the houses of Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and Shas leader Aryeh Deri to put further pressure on the government. The hostages’ time has run out, the Times of Israel quotes Einav Zangauker, the mother of the hostage Matan Zangauker, as saying, “and we, the families, do not have the privilege of ending the fight. We demand that Netanyahu agree to an agreement that saves lives and can prevent a major war.” and
