On Saturday evening, the police had an attention-grabbing chase on Kolmostie.
Itä-Uusimaa police were informed, at around 21:45, that the pursuit had ended with the arrest of the target person. The police did not specify how and where the stop took place.
According to eyewitness observations received by Iltalehti, a black passenger car was chased by numerous police cars in the north direction.
According to the Itä-Uusimaa police, the chase is not related to Saturday night’s police operation in Vantaa’s Koivuhaa.
This is how the situation progressed
The command center of the Helsinki Police Department said that the chase started in East Helsinki, continued to Klaukkala and then back towards Helsinki. Finally, the fleeing car on Kolmostie was stopped. The fleeing vehicle collided with two police vehicles while stopped.
– There was minor damage to two cars. Fortunately, the cars on the side were not hit, the control center said.
The command center confirms that the driver is suspected of at least grossly endangering traffic safety. In addition, other issues are clarified, such as car ownership.
