Femsa Oxxos reopens in Nuevo Laredo – El Financiero

Mexican Economic Development Agency (Femsa) said that after reaching agreements with Nuevo Laredo and federal authorities, it will reopen its Oxxo and Oxxo Gas stores in this city.

“After reaching significant agreements with local and federal authorities to ensure the safety of our employees, we announce the resumption of our operations in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, starting today, Friday, August 2,” the company said in a statement.

He explained that after meetings with state and federal authorities over the last few days, certain commitments were made, including police presence in stores, so the authorities will carry out constant patrols in their stores and stations.

He said there will be increased police presence to ensure a safe environment for employees and customers.

He also said that panic buttons will be installed in shops and stations with a C5 connection for immediate attention in any emergency situation.

In addition, permanent working groups have been established with state and local authorities.

“Under these agreements, Oxxo and Oxxo Gas believe that the necessary conditions exist to safely resume operations,” he added.

“We appreciate the commitment of state and federal authorities to establish these agreements that will help improve the security of our businesses and their surroundings. We also recognize the attention and prompt follow-up of the state authorities to the complaint filed, which is following the corresponding course,” he added.

The company said its stores and stations will reopen in a phased manner on Friday, August 2, and will operate at regular hours, as established by current regulations.
