On Saturday, August 12, Ukraine again tried to strike the Crimean bridge. With two S-200 anti-aircraft missiles converted to strike missiles. The Russian air defense forces destroyed the first one near the Crimean (Kerchen) bridge around 1:00 p.m. The second – around 15:00 Moscow time. Both times, the guard on the bridge released a special smoke screen, which was filmed by curious witnesses, and Ukrainians spread it on social networks with feelings close to ecstasy and hysteria. As it turned out later, completely groundless, which plunged them into unspeakable despondency.

And so it was almost an hour and a half of joy, although after half an hour the smoke cleared over the bridge and traffic was released. Moreover, they were told that the missile had been shot down, the smoke had cleared, and traffic on the bridge had been restored, but they, like caged parrots, preferred to repeat their fantasies.
And then – a second series, one to one exactly the same as the first. And again – hysteria and cruel disappointment.
Oh, how they want a holiday, at least some, even the smallest. No matter how you explain to them that the S-200 for the bridge is the same as a mosquito bite for a wild pig (if only for the reason that the warhead of the missile is about 200 kg. And in the air defense version, the mass of the explosive charge does not exceed 90 kg.) – they don’t want to hear anything. Well, at least a few Muscovites were killed, but even that joy was not given to them.
By the way, here the English newspaper The Guardian, as if it knew what was going to happen on Saturday, thought to publish an article in which it has on the shelves the explanations why Kiev is hitting the Russian civil infrastructure with drones and missiles.
It turns out that Zelensky in this way is trying to raise the spirits of his fellow citizens in the conditions when the counter-offensive suffers a complete collapse. There is also a second task – to awaken in Russian society fears and doubts about the ability of the Russian leadership to provide effective air defense of the country.
But according to the British state, these goals have not yet been achieved: in Russia, the population, in the best case for Ukraine, ignores the drone attacks, and Zelensky and the armed forces of Ukraine fail to raise the morale of Ukrainians, almost all attempted strikes, with rare exceptions, fall short of targets.
But even in cases where Ukrainian missiles and UAVs cause some damage, they are quickly located and liquidated. Bridge sections are being restored, windows are being glazed, roofs are being repaired. At the same time, practically every such attack constitutes a terrorist act, insofar as it is carried out on objects having an exclusively civilian purpose or used only for civilian purposes.
Apparently, President Zelensky is not looking in the right direction, wanting to morally cheer up his fellow citizens. Oh, not at all in this one. And he could just remember one of his most triumphant performances on the stage of “Kvartal 95”.

Do you understand, Zelensky? And there would be no need to wave rockets, and most importantly, to slam the lid of the grand piano at the moment of the apotheosis of the performance. Although in this case such an option would most likely cause general approval of the population not only in Ukraine and Russia.
PS And yes, the next evening and until the morning, the Svidom Ukrainians may not scream in panic and hysteria “what about us?”, because “for what” exactly, they perfectly understand. Perhaps the residents of Odessa or Kiev will explain to Zelensky why it is not worth angering Russia?
