Sunday film at the Viva Kino Kulturforum Zeulenroda: “The Little Witch”

Zeulenroda-Triebes. Films for adults and children will be shown in Zeulenroda-Triebes during the week from 13 to 17 August

Tuesday, August 13, at 8 p.m., documentary film “AMY”

The documentary “AMY” is as honest, raw and surprising as its protagonist herself. It shows the life of Amy Winehouse, the Beehive icon with the incomparable soul voice. Amy Winehouse moved millions of people with her personal lyrics and took home six Grammys. The same Amy whose drug excesses made headlines far beyond England, whose drunken performances caused a stir and who had to leave the stage of life far too early on July 23, 2011.

But who was Amy behind the scenes? What inspired her on her journey and who were her companions? The documentary “AMY” tells with great sensitivity the story of an exceptional artist who had an endless passion for music, a lot of humor and always had her own mind, but also her insecurities, her compulsions and an insatiable desire to be loved. The film shows a cheerful teenager, the young jazz singer who finds her musical home at small festivals and in independent clubs. It accompanies her through the time of sudden fame, the big shows and duets, such as with jazz legend Tony Bennett and the attempts to find herself again. (2015, P 0), duration: 123 minutes

Friday, August 16, at 8 p.m., “The Drunk” will be shown on the big screen

The film by Thomas Vinterberg (2020, P 12) has an omnipresent plot:
Martin used to be a passionate teacher – today it’s not just the students who are bored by his lack of enthusiasm, Martin’s marriage has also lost its momentum. His three friends, who teach at the same high school, aren’t doing much better. At a tipsy birthday gathering, they discuss a Norwegian philosopher’s theory that a person can only perform at their best with a high blood alcohol level. Such a daring theory must be tested. The four decide to do the self-test and maintain a constant level while working. Isn’t even Churchill supposed to have won the Second World War while drunk? With renewed motivation, they throw themselves into their secret experiment. The effect is not long in coming… (Duration: 117 minutes)

“The Little Witch” at the Viva Kino, Kulturforum Kreuzkirche

The makers of HEIDI have pulled off another coup with “The Little Witch”. The film will be shown at the Viva Kino, Kulturforum Kreuzkirche on August 17th at 3:30 p.m. (2018, P 0) The little witch (Karoline Herfurth) has a big problem: she is only 127 years old and therefore far too young to dance with the other witches on the Blocksberg on Walpurgis Night. So she sneaks into the most important of all witch festivals – and is immediately caught! As punishment, she has to learn all 7892 spells from the great magic book by heart within a year. But hard work and ambition are not her strengths. On top of that, the evil witch Rumpumpel (Suzanne von Borsody) tries by all means to prevent the little witch from achieving her big goal. Together with her talking raven Abraxas (voice: Axel Prahl), the little witch wants to find out what makes a good witch. And in doing so, she puts the entire world of witches to the test. (Duration: 99 minutes) Admission to the cinema costs six euros for adults and four euros for children up to 14 years. Doors open 30 minutes before the start. Drinks and snacks are available.
