They amounted to 3.433 billion euros outstanding debts to the public in May, according to the data released today by the Independent Public Revenue Authority (AADE), against 2.813 billion euros, in the same period last year, registering an increase of 22%, or about 500 million euros.
Especially for the month May the new maturity reached 508 million euros, while last year in the same period it was 362 million, registering an increase of 40.3%.
The actual outstanding balance in May 2024 stands at €80.8 billion, with around €26.32 billion classified as uncollectible.
In relation to the corresponding period of 2023, the number of debtors shows 5% reduction (4,253,031 number of debtors in May 2024 against 4,471,762 in 2023).
Collections against a new due date (except 10 MFC):
For the reference month (May) the total collections against new maturity (excluding 10 MFCs) reached €265 million, while in the corresponding period of 2023 they reached €171 million (an increase of 54.9%).
